Michel Gall in I Ching, the Chinese Bible is usually succinct in his statements. On this occasion, it´s about one of his comments on hexagram The Creative (1) of The Book of Changes when completely changing to The Receptive (2).
The sequence of situations talks about combining opposite principles, strong with weak, hard with soft, so an energic and severe action is effective being light and agile at the same time. In a global view, it wouldn´t be an adjective to characterize this behaviour because the same action defines as much the negative as the positive, causing a movement in which beings and things as much move as rest without being possible to define which attribute prevails or which is its essence.
In this transformation towards a disposition combining forces, potency and the chance to make some other global change in expression continue. This way, a state of complete receptivity inside hiddens within a disposition to domination and also total command that can be visualized at any moment but we have to bear in mind that phenomena variability won´t be a predominant characteristic in the sequence of facts.
Whether with light, whether with darkness, external factors are determinants when considering how qualities are combined. The way to harmoniously synthesise inner expression with outside expression is, precisely, integrating the active into the passive inside the same display of force.
